President & Chief Executive Officer

Chen Lichtenstein, President and Chief Executive Officer, as well as a member of the Board of Directors of ZIM, brings with him extensive management, business and financial experience in the global arena. Mr. Lichtenstein has held senior executive leadership positions within complex, multinational organizations across a diverse range of industries, demonstrating a strategic focus on sustainable growth, operational integration, and comprehensive organizational transformation.

Mr. Lichtenstein currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors at Teva Pharmaceuticals Ltd., as Chairman of the Board of Directors at international companies in the fields of environmental sciences and biotechnology, and as a Senior Advisor to global investment firms. 

Prior to that, Mr. Lichtenstein served as Chief Financial Officer of Syngenta Group, where he was responsible for strategy, integration, and productivity, playing a central role in building the global group, which included Syngenta Seeds, Syngenta Crop Protection, ADAMA and the Group’s operations in China.

Prior to that, Mr. Lichtenstein served as President and Chief Executive Officer of ADAMA Ltd. (formerly known as Makhteshim Agan Industries Ltd.), which he led during a six-year period characterized by significant, industry-leading growth, enhanced profitability, successful integration, and a listing on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. He joined ADAMA in 2006 to head the company’s corporate development and capital market activities, followed by him running the company’s Global Resources Division, integrating all global operations including manufacturing, supply chain, procurement and R&D. He then went on to hold several key roles, including Deputy CEO in charge of China Integration, and President and CEO of ChemChina's strategic business division – China National Agrochemical Corporation (CNAC), Syngenta Group’s parent company.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Lichtenstein served as a senior investment banking executive at Goldman Sachs in New York and London, where he led major acquisition and financing transactions.

Mr. Lichtenstein holds joint doctoral degrees from the Graduate School of Business and the School of Law at Stanford University, as well as a B.Sc. in Physics, summa cum laude, from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, and an LL.B., cum laude, from the Faculty of Law at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
