Mobile Application Privacy Policy
ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd. (“ZIM”) respects the privacy of its users (“You”, “Your”) and has developed this privacy policy to demonstrate its commitment to protecting Your privacy. This privacy policy describes and defines user’s personal and non-personal information ZIM collects, how it is collected and how it is used by ZIM. ZIM encourages You to read this privacy policy carefully when using ZIM’s application, application functions and services (the “Application”). By using the Application You are accepting the practices described in this privacy policy.
This Privacy Notice describes how ZIM collects, uses, stores and protects information when you download, access or use ZIM mobile applications, application features and related services (collectively, the "Application").
This Privacy Notice should be read together with ZIM's Data Protection Policy ( see Data Protection Policy) and Cookies and Tracking Policy see ZIM Cookies and Tracking Policy), which provide additional information regarding ZIM's processing of personal data, your rights, the use of cookies and tracking technologies, international data transfers, security measures and how to contact our Data Protection Officer.
In the event of a conflict between this Privacy Notice and the Data Protection Policy, the Data Protection Policy shall prevail unless otherwise required by applicable law.
When You install and use the Application, ZIM may collect information such as: device location (including specific geographic location), device ID, device and hardware settings, device manufacturer and type, operating system, operator, usage statistics and connection information (“Non-Personal Information”).
Some functions of the Application may require information such as (but not limited to): Your full name, title, company name, email address and mobile number (“Personal Information”).
The Application enables You to scan B\L QR code by using Your device camera and enables You to call ZIM’s local contacts directly from the Application using Your phone dialer (the “Purpose”). Certain Application features may require access to functionality available on your device, such as your camera, telephone functionality or location services. For example, the Application may enable you to scan a Bill of Lading QR code using your device camera or contact local ZIM representatives directly from the Application. Access to such functionality is subject to your device permissions and may be enabled, disabled or revoked by you through your device settings at any time, subject to the functionality of the relevant feature. Therefore, You hereby acknowledge, agree and permit the Application to use Your camera and phone for the Purpose.
ZIM may use the Personal and Non Personal Information collected by it to provide, maintain, and improve ZIM’s services, to develop new ones, and to protect the Application and its users. ZIM may also use this information to provide You with tailored content, such as (but not limited to) search results and advertisements more relevant to You.
Analytics, Artificial Intelligence and Automated Technologies
ZIM may use analytics tools, artificial intelligence ("AI"), machine learning technologies and automated systems to improve the functionality, security, performance, usability and operation of the Application.
Such technologies may assist ZIM in analyzing application performance, identifying technical issues, improving user experience, enhancing cybersecurity measures, developing new services and providing customer support.
Where personal data is processed through such technologies, ZIM will do so in accordance with its Data Protection Policy and applicable law and will implement appropriate safeguards designed to protect such information.
ZIM may use third-party analytics, attribution, monitoring, communication, cloud hosting, security, AI, and performance-management service providers, including tools such as Google Analytics, AppsFlyer and similar technologies.
These providers may collect technical and usage information regarding your interaction with the Application in order to assist ZIM with analytics, performance monitoring, service improvement, cybersecurity, attribution measurement and operational support. Data may include precise location sharing with advertisers, browsing history collection, or search history collection.

ZIM’s Application may contain links to third party applications, websites and services (together “Third Party Services”). ZIM have no control over Third Party Services, and all use of Third-Party Services is at Your own risk. ZIM cannot and will not accept responsibility for the privacy policies of any such Third-Party Services. ZIM does not endorse any Third-Party Services offered and urge You to exercise caution in using third Party Services.
ZIM implements generally accepted industry standards to maintain the safety of Your Personal and Non-Personal information. However, no method of transmission of electronic storage is 100% secure. ZIM employs reasonable technical, organizational and administrative security measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration or destruction. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure and therefore ZIM cannot guarantee absolute security.
Personal data collected through the Application may be transferred to and processed by ZIM, its affiliates and authorized service providers located in countries outside your country of residence. Where required by applicable law, ZIM implements appropriate safeguards designed to protect such transfers.

Depending on applicable law and your location, you may have rights relating to your personal data, including rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection or withdrawal of consent.

This privacy policy may be updated from time to time and therefore ZIM asks You to check back periodically to read the most updated privacy policy. Your continued use of the Application shall be deemed to be Your continued acceptance of the terms of this privacy policy, as amended.
