Customer Advisory - MSC Gayane
Dear ZIM Customer,
As you probably know from recent media reports, the US authorities seized MSC containers, with a reported over one billion US dollars’ worth of cocaine, on board of the MSC Gayane while in the port of Philadelphia.
We wish to assure you that ZIM operated vessels will not be affected and we expect our operations to proceed as planned. According to the latest update received from MSC as for ZIM’s cargo carried on MSC vessels, despite the fact that U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has temporarily suspended MSC’s Customs Trade Partnership (C-TPAT) certification, there will be no impact on customs clearance for ZIM cargo, which is flowing regularly in and out of the USA.
We are monitoring the situation closely and will keep you informed on any relevant developments, nevertheless our customer service team is at your disposal for any inquiry.
