26 ZIM Magazine By the end of Q4 2017, additional digital services will be available in the MyZIM Customer Area. Customers will be able to retrieve documents (Booking Confirmation, Arrival Notice, Delivery Order, Invoice Copy, B/L Copy) and view their shipments’ status, details and tracing. In addition, ZIMonitor, a 24/7 IoT-based (Internet of Things) monitoring, reporting and alerting service, will be available. This will give customers full monitoring capabilities for their ZIMonitor reefer containers, including temperature, geo-location, door open/close, power on/off, and more. Customers will be able to subscribe to event notifications, such as container discharge at Port of Discharge, and receive these notifications via email/text message. During 2018, ZIMwill provide additional digital services that will enhance the MyZIM Customer Area and our e-commerce capabilities. In the MyZIM Customer Area, customers will be able to retrieve additional documents and data (e.g. Service Contract and Quotation) and initiate key processes (e.g. Request a Booking, Submit ESI/VGM, Submit Invoice Dispute, Request a Corrector, Request a Release of Cargo, Request a Quote). OpeningaChannel toExternal E-Commerce In the e-commerce realm, ZIM is opening a channel to external e-commerce arenas via digital facilities. These arenas will allow small and medium customers to engage directly with ZIM and offer greater exposure to new customers. What’s Next? As a digital innovator, ZIM is in the process of exploring many exciting new digital advances. One of these is the Electronic B/L (eB/L), based on Blockchain technology (used in Bitcoin).
