Using machine learning and big data, ZIM will translate its accumulated data into business value, including new opportunities, optimization, and efficiency. In Memory of Alex Teller (1955-2017) Alex Teller began working at ZIM in 1984, as a developer in Automation & Data Processing – the precursor of today’s IT Department. As his career progressed, Alex filled many key roles for ZIM worldwide, including managing the Application Department for agencies, and directing IT communications in Hong Kong. He also served as manager of the Commercial Documentation Department, and Senior Systems Analyst for Agency Global Solutions. His most recent position was as Senior Systems Analyst for the CustomerONE project in IT Global Business Solutions. Alex Teller was an integral part of the IT team and worked tirelessly to advance ZIM's digital services. He even designed ZIM's very first digital service, Print Original B/L. His vast knowledge, deep analytical mind, and quiet demeanor will be dearly missed. A true gentleman! May he rest in peace. ZIM will provide an additional channel for customer interaction via chatbots, a rule-based cognitive service powered by artificial intelligence, via WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, text messages, and so on.
