ZIM’s Northern European Service, NE1, introduced the
ZIM Hamburg
into service, a 6350
TEU ship with the capacity of carrying 500 reefer containers. The
ZIM Hamburg
was built
in Japan in 2009, and its introduction to this service is the result of the growth in cargo
quantitieson the line and compliance with the market’s and customers’ needs. To mark the first
visit at Hamburg Port in July of this year, ZIM’s office in Germany hosted an event for clients
and members of the shipping community on the ship’s deck. Representatives from Hamburg
Port presented the ship’s Captain with a plaque commemorating the first call in Hamburg.
