A Bi t of History
At a meeting between ZIM’s long-standing clients and the South American District Manager Eran Epstein, he was shown
a 50-year old photograph, depicting a ZIM ship anchoring at Haifa Port. It seems that the photograph, kept by a particular
family all these years, was given to a customer in
Brazilby a ZIM representative. ZIM visited South
American ports in the 1950s and 60s, with both cargo
and passenger ships.
The WTCC is one of the most popular motor sport events in the world, specializing in standard cars that have undergone
upgrading and conversion, driven by professional racing drivers. The busy schedule of races and the expensive equipment
demanded shipping and logistics services at the highest standard of quality and reliability.
Nineteen racing cars and the accompanying vehicle, spare parts, technical and production equipment were loaded on the
ZIM Los Angeles at the Buenos Aires port in Argentina in August of this year, in 27 forty-foot containers. The cargo is destined
for Shanghai port for the next race which will be held in China. This unique project requires professional staff and is being
carried out in conjunction with ZIM’s special cargo team.
