RELOCATION
It is a common misconception to assume that “Relocation”
is merely the movement of an employee from one country to
another, when in fact it is the movement of a whole family
unit, and it is to be regarded accordingly.
“Relocation, which has become increasingly common in
the era of globalization, means that an employee and his or
her family must adapt to a different culture. Understanding
the culture of the host country and how to integrate into the
local community is one of the main challenges. Relocation
is a major change in an employee’s life in terms of both
family and work,” says Dr. Shoshi Chen, who has researched

ZIM’s Global Relocation Department attempts to put these
concepts into practice through a support center for employees
and their families, designed to ease the transition process
