Following the recent decision by the Canada Industrial Relations Board (CIRB), which determined that none of the services provided by the railways are essential by law, CN railway is preparing for a possible work stoppage, potentially beginning on Aug 22nd, 12:01 AM EST.
In anticipation of this possible disruption and delays to your cargo, we are offering you the opportunity to request a change of destination (COD) at no additional cost. This proactive measure aims to help mitigate any potential delays in receiving your shipments during the potential strike period.
Should you wish to proceed with a COD request, please notify us at least 24 hours before the vessel’s arrival at Halifax, and we will arrange the COD free of charge. Please direct all diversion requests to ca.service@zim.com
We understand the importance of reliable transportation services to your operations and are committed to mitigating any potential disruptions to the best of our ability. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this period and will keep you updated on the status of the strike and its potential impact on our services. Updated Freight Rates from the West Med, Adriatic, Greece, Cyprus & All Black Sea Countries to all USEC & Gulf Puerto Rico, Canada, Mexico & Caribbean.
To continue and maintain a reliable service, in the current market conditions and due to constant changes in our global network, we are updating new Freight of All Kind (FAK) from all Mediterranean ports (excluding Israel) to all USEC & Gulf, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean ports, effective as of 15th of September 2024 and until further notice.
