Dear Valued Customer,
Please be advised that, effective 3 August 2026, the Kenya Revenue Authority will require a mandatory Advanced Cargo Declaration (ACD) for all cargo destined for Kenyan ports.
Under this new regulation, a 15-digit alphanumeric ACD reference code must be obtained before shipment loading and endorsed on the Bill of Lading.
Shippers, exporters at the port of loading must obtain an ACD reference code through the Advanced Cargo Declaration platform (https://acd.kra.go.ke) by uploading the following documents:
- Draft Bill of Lading
- Commercial Invoice
- Freight Invoice
- Export Declaration
Each ACD reference code applies to one shipment only.
Shipments arriving in Kenya without a valid ACD reference code may be subject to penalties and returned at the customer’s expense.
